Ventilation Techniques for Raising Chickens in Laying Hen cages

Farmers know that providing suitable humidity and temperature for laying hens is a good start for the healthy growth of chickens. Therefore, farmers must maintain good ventilation in the chicken house to achieve a suitable microclimate. At present, the use of  laying hen cages in modern chicken house to raise chickens is generally divided into two ventilation methods.

The density of closed chicken houses is relatively high. Generally, windows are closed, and farmers use wet curtains, ventilators and other equipment for ventilation management.

  1. Horizontal ventilation: When the length of the chicken house is short and the span does not exceed 10 meters, horizontal ventilation is often used. Horizontal ventilation mainly has two designs: positive pressure system and negative pressure system. The most common application is the negative pressure ventilation system. The most commonly used in production is penetration ventilation. Install the fan on the side wall, and set the air inlet at the corresponding part of the wall on the opposite side of the fan. After the fresh air flows in from the air inlet, it passes through the transverse diameter of the chicken house and is discharged out of the house. This ventilation design requires that the exhaust air volume is slightly larger than the intake air volume, so that the air pressure inside the house is slightly lower than the air pressure outside the house, which is beneficial for the fresh air outside the house to automatically flow into the chicken house under the influence of this negative pressure.

  1. Longitudinal ventilation: When the length of the chicken house is longer, more than 80 meters, and the span is more than 10 meters, longitudinal ventilation should be adopted. It refers to the installation of the fan on the side gable of the broiler house, and the establishment of air inlets on the opposite gable or both sides of the opposite gable to make the fresh air pass through the longitudinal path of the chicken house under negative pressure and discharge it Out of the house. In the high temperature season in summer, in order to effectively cool the chicken house, it is usually necessary to install a wet curtain at the air inlet, that is, a wet curtain to cool down. Because the vertical ventilation system of the chicken house has the advantages of simple design and installation, low cost, good ventilation and cooling effect, etc., it is widely used in current chicken production.

The above is the ventilation method of using laying hen cages to raise chickens shared by automatic poultry farming equipment manufacturers for farmers. Farmers should choose the way of ventilation according to the conditions of their own farms.
