In the production of laying hens, the egg breaking rate of the laying hens will directly affect the economic benefits of the farmers. It is normal to have a broken egg rate in production, but the rate of breaking eggs is high. Farmers must find ways to reduce them, leading to a high rate of egg breaking. The authors suggest that farmers should adopt the following measures to reduce the rate of breaking eggs when using A type layer chicken cages to raise chickens:
1. Improve the quality of feed: the content of calcium and phosphorus in the feed and the ratio between the two, the absorption and utilization of calcium and phosphorus, the content of vitamin D, etc. all have a certain influence on the formation of eggshells, on either side. Inappropriate will increase the egg breaking rate: insufficient manganese content will reduce the eggshell strength. Excessive levels of fluorine and magnesium can also make the eggshell brittle. Therefore, the content and proportion of various nutrients in the feed should be appropriate. The content of harmful elements should not exceed the standard.
2. The design and installation of the cage should be reasonable: the slope of the bottom of the cage should be 8~9°. If it is too small, the egg will not roll out easily. If it is too large, the egg will roll too fast and easily break. The wire mesh is used to connect the egg nets at the joints of the two groups to prevent the gap from being too large to cause the eggs to fall out. The cage should have a high strength to prevent deformation during use.
3. Keep the health of the flock: respiratory infections, enteritis, salpingitis, atypical Newcastle disease, etc., can cause thinning of the eggshell or uneven eggshell texture. Even soft shell eggs and shellless eggs appear. Therefore, it is very important to do a good job in sanitation and epidemic prevention, to maintain the health of the flock, and to maintain a high egg production and good eggshell quality.
4. To pick up the eggs: When the number of eggs is picked up every day, it can reduce the rupture caused by collisions with each other. It can also reduce the damage caused by the foraging of the chickens.
5. Relieve the effects of high temperature: When the temperature exceeds 25 °C, the eggshell has a tendency to become thinner. Above 32 ° C, the egg breaking rate is significantly increased.
6. Preventing horror: The hens may cause abnormal peristalsis of the fallopian tubes after being frightened. The eggs in the process of formation are produced in advance, resulting in an increase in the number of thin, soft or shellless eggs. The crowd may also cause the cage net to smash or break the egg due to the turmoil of the chicken.
7. Prevent pecking egg: pecking is a form of pica in chickens. In addition to regular egg picking, egg-pecking chickens should be placed in the upper cage. If they are low-yielding chickens, they can be eliminated in advance. Reduce egg breakage during collection and handling.
